  3. Henry Percy, 9th Earl of Northumberland, also commonly called the Wizard Earl on account of his fascination with science, was born at Tynemouth Castle in April 1564. He was the eldest son of Henry, 8th Earl of Northumberland, and Katherine Neville, daughter of Lord Latimer.
