Emmanuel Lubezki Morgenstern —mejor conocido como El Chivo— nació en la Ciudad de México en 1964. La familia de su abuela paterna escapó de Rusia durante la Revolución bolchevique. Ella pretendía hacer carrera en Hollywood, pero tuvo que detenerse en México debido a que la cuota para inmigrantes en Estados Unidos estaba cerrada.
