Innsbruck je štatutárne mesto ležiace na západe Rakúska v časti Tirolsko. Leží v údolí Innu , v bezprostrednom podhorí Álp , asi 30 km severne od Brennerského priesmyku. V bezprostrednej blízkosti mesta sú vysoké hory, na severe Hafelekar (2334 m) a na juhu Serles (2718 m).
