Waldeck ist eine Kleinstadt im nordhessischen Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg. Sie ist anerkannter Luftkurort [2] und trägt seit dem 13. September 2021 die amtliche Zusatzbezeichnung Nationalpark stadt [3] in Bezug auf den naheliegenden Nationalpark Kellerwald-Edersee, der sich in das Waldecker Bergland erstreckt.

The remainder of the State was incorporated into the Free State of Prussia on 1 May 1929, following another plebiscite, and became part of the province of Hesse-Nassau. Margaretha von Waldeck. Margaretha von Waldeck ( 22 mei 1533 – Brussel, 15 maart 1554) was de dochter van Filips IV, graaf van Waldeck-Wildungen (1493-1574) en zijn eerste vrouw, Margaretha Cirksena (1500-1537), dochter van Edzard I, graaf van Oost-Friesland. Het sprookje van Sneeuwwitje zou mogelijk gebaseerd zijn op haar leven.
The district is located in the mountains of the Sauerland, with the highest elevation in the district of 843 m (2,766 ft). With 1,848.58 km 2 (713.74 sq mi), it's the largest district in Hessen. Four artificial lakes created by dams are in the district, the biggest is the Edersee, which covers an area of 12 km 2 (4.6 sq mi).
