I kind of get it why a lot of people hated this film as it struggles to prove the connection between science and superstition it's aiming for, which is quite frustrating to watch. It also tries too hard to join this 'elevated horror' bandwagon but just comes across as a pretentious, incoherent mess. The vision and effort are at least admirable.
