Iltutmish’s tomb, which the namesake commissioned during his reign, is located in the northwest corner of the Qutb complex, outside of the mosque’s courtyard. Constructed from new stone (that is, not spolia), this square tomb is relatively simple in its exterior decorative program, but its interior stuns with its overwhelming ornament.
23 de nov. de 2021 · It is the tomb of the successor and son in law of Qutbuddin Aibak as well as the second sultan of the slave dynasty, Iltutmish. This mausoleum was built by him in 1235, lying in the north-western corner of the complex. He made his tomb near the extended Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque. The credit of the extension of the mosque was also done by him.
About Tomb of Iltutmish. The Tomb of Iltutmish is a historical monument located in Delhi, India. The tomb was built by Iltutmish in 1235 AD. It is located just outside the north-west corner of the Quwwat-ul-Islam near the Qutub Minar. There are three mihrabs (prayer niches) inside the tomb.
