Edward Franklin Albee war ein US-amerikanischer Schriftsteller. Er wurde ab Ende der 1950er-Jahre durch erfolgreiche Theaterstücke wie Die Zoogeschichte, The Sandbox und vor allem Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Woolf? bekannt. Albee wurde mehrfach mit dem Tony Award und dem Pulitzer-Preis ausgezeichnet.
