It’s been a two-and-a-half-year journey for the 24-year-old, and it’s perfect timing as Mississippi Mills is marking its bicentennial this year and 25th anniversary of amalgamation.   2. 2 de nov. de 2022 · After almost two years of research and interviews, author Robert Gardiner is thrilled to announce that pre-sales for The History of Pakenham: 1823-2023 have begun. The book is a hardcover and contains images, maps, and portraits.

  3. 8 de abr. de 2023 · We hear the incredible story of the construction of the Five-Span Bridge in 1901, the harrowing tale of the Great Fire in 1940, and the sacrifices made by Pakenham men and women during wartime. The book also describes the triumphs, tragedies, and traditions that have shaped the town into the Pakenham we know and love today.

  4. Its earliest settlers were some of Peter Robinson’s Irish immigrants of 1825. Others came from the Richmond settlement in Carleton county. Pakenham village was founded by James Harvey in 1825. Jesse E. Middleton, The Province of Ontario: a History: 1615-1927, published 1927.

  5. The Pakenham bridge was built in 1903, or 1901 depending on source, and spans the Mississippi River in the town of Pakenham (now part of Mississippi Mills), Ontario. The bridge measures 82 metres long (268 feet), 6.7 metres (22 feet) high, 7.6 metres (25 feet) wide.
