William Stanhope (c.1683 – 8 de diciembre de 1756) fue un estadista y diplomático británico. Fue el primer conde de Harrington.
William Stanhope, 1st Earl of Harrington. As a reward for his part in negotiating the 1729 Treaty of Seville that ended the war, he was created Baron Harrington in January 1730. Later the same year, he replaced Lord Townshend as Secretary of State for the Northern Department under Robert Walpole.

William Stanhope, 1st earl of Harrington was a British diplomat and statesman in the Walpole-Pelham era. Educated at Eton College, Harrington was elected a member of Parliament for Derby in 1715, became envoy to Turin (1718–20), and was then ambassador to Spain (1720–27).
