Sir Robert Bruce, Lord of Liddesdale (c. 1293 - 11 August 1332) [1] was the illegitimate son of King Robert the Bruce and an unknown mother. He was knighted and awarded the royal arms at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. The youngest a man could be knighted was 21, meaning 1293 is the latest he could have been born. Sir Robert Bruce, Lord of Liddesdale was born in 1293, in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland as the son of King Robert the Bruce and mistress unknown. He had at least 1 son with Helen Vieuxpont. He died on 11 August 1332, in Dupplin, Perthshire, Scotland, at the age of 39, and was buried in Abbeytown, Cumbria, England, United Kingdom.
