30 de abr. de 2024 · We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera. So to reflect that, we’re changing our name. From the start of the 2024/25 Season we will be the Royal Ballet and Opera. The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are.
El Ballet Real (inglés: The Royal Ballet) es la primera compañía de ballet del Reino Unido. Tiene por residencia la Royal Opera House en Covent Garden, Londres, Inglaterra. Fue fundado por Dame Ninette de Valois en 1931 con el nombre de Vic-Wells Ballet, y actuó en los teatros Old Vic y el Sadler's Wells hasta 1946.
History. The Royal Ballet owes its existence to the vision of Dame Ninette de Valois, dancer, choreographer and entrepreneur, who assembled a small company and school, the Vic-Wells Ballet, and, in 1931, persuaded Lilian Baylis to provide it with a home at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in North London.
