Henry Stanley, 4th Earl of Derby KG (September 1531 – 25 September 1593) was a prominent English nobleman, diplomat, and politician. He was an ambassador and Privy Counsellor, and participated in the trials of Mary, Queen of Scots and the Earl of Arundel .

When Henry Stanley was born in September 1531, in Lathom House, Lancashire, England, his father, Edward Stanley 3rd Earl of Derby, was 22 and his mother, Countess Of Derby Dorothy Howard, was 20. He married Countess Margaret Clifford Stanley on 7 February 1555, in Westminster, Middlesex, England.
