Pierre Curie (París, 15 de mayo de 1859-París, 19 de abril de 1906) fue un físico francés, pionero en el estudio de la radiactividad y descubridor de la piezoelectricidad, que fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Física en 1903 junto con Marie Curie y Antoine Henri Becquerel.

Curie was awarded the Davy Medal of the Royal Society of London in 1903 (jointly with his wife) and in 1905 he was elected to the Academy of Sciences. His wife was formerly Marie Sklodowska, daughter of a secondary-school teacher at Warsaw, Poland.
1 de dic. de 1996 · On April 19, 1906, Pierre Curie was run over by a horse-drawn wagon near the Pont Neuf in Paris and killed. Now Marie was left alone with two daughters, Irène aged 9 and Ève aged 2. Shock broke her down totally to begin with.
