John of Montfort (Middle Breton: Yann Moñforzh, French: Jean de Montfort) (1295 – 26 September 1345, Château d'Hennebont), sometimes known as John IV of Brittany, and 6th Earl of Richmond from 1341 to his death. He was the son of Arthur II, Duke of Brittany and his second wife, Yolande de Dreux.
John I de Montfort ( c. 1228 – 1249), Count of Montfort from 1241 to 1249, was the son of Amaury de Montfort, Count of Montfort, and of Béatrice of Burgundy. [1] . In 1248 he joined Louis IX's crusader fleet. [2] . Once the fleet arrived at Limassol, it was scattered by fierce storms and was forced to wait there to regroup. [2] .

Johann I. von Montfort († vor April 1249 auf Zypern) war ein Graf von Montfort-l’Amaury. Er war ein Sohn des Grafen Amalrich VII. von Montfort und dessen Ehefrau Beatrix von Viennois. Johann folgte seinem 1241 verstorbenen Vater als Graf nach. Er nahm 1248 am Sechsten Kreuzzug unter König Ludwig IX. von Frankreich nach Ägypten teil.
