- Palabras. Expresamos cariño al verbalizar palabras de ánimo, apoyo, afecto, felicitación, elogios, amabilidad, o humildad hacia otro. Este es uno de los lenguajes del amor en los que son clave las habilidades comunicativas convencionales.
- Tiempo de calidad. Vivimos en la sociedad de las prisas que, junto a las falsas necesidades creadas por el mercado (tener el mejor coche, viaje, casa, etc.)
- Regalos. El significado del regalo parece haber perdido valor en una sociedad consumista: “Cuanto más regalos y más caros mejor”, nos dice ésta, independientemente de su necesidad o utilidad.
- Actos de servicio. Tratar de agradar a la persona sirviéndoles o haciéndoles favores a ciertas personas les resulta gratificante. Cocinar, limpiar, arreglar cosas, encargarse de las tareas más pesadas o desplazarse a sitios lejanos, son actos que realizan minuciosamente y con una sonrisa en la cara, sin esperar que le devuelvas el favor o una respuesta inmediata compensatoria.
