Kevin Ayers (Herne Bay, Kent, Inglaterra, 16 de agosto de 1944 - Montolieu, Francia, 18 de febrero de 2013) [1] fue un músico británico que ejerció una gran influencia en el rock progresivo y psicodélico.
Kevin Ayers (16 August 1944 – 18 February 2013) was an English singer-songwriter who was active in the English psychedelic music movement. Ayers was a founding member of the psychedelic band Soft Machine in the mid-1960s, and was closely associated with the Canterbury scene.

Kevin Ayers nació el 16 de agosto del año 1945 en Kent, Inglaterra. Después de vivir durante un tiempo en Malasia, lugar en donde trabajó su padre, y pasar, ya en el Reino Unido, por combos psicoprogresivos como The Wilde Flowers o los canterburyanos The Soft Machine, Kevin decidió comenzar su carrera como solista a finales de la década de los 60.
