Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965, directed by Peter Whitehead and produced by the Rolling Stones ' manager Andrew Loog Oldham, was the first documentary film about the Rolling Stones. It was intended as a screen test for the band, to see how their musical charisma would translate into film.

While researching archives for the upcoming 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones, Gochanour visited the Stone's vault in London and discovered several hours of unprocessed film shot by Peter Whitehead during their 1965 promotional tour.
26 de ago. de 2023 · The original footage was directed by Peter Whitehead, while Michael Gochanour restored the later version that made it to the public. This film is light-hearted, and it's enjoyable to see the joy the rock stars have for performing and provides nostalgia other documentaries lack.
