Matthew James Hitt (born 30 May 1987) is a Welsh model and musician, known as the lead singer and guitarist for the American-Welsh indie rock band Drowners. As of 2023, he is currently joining the Vaccines as a touring member.

Mejor conocido como el líder de la banda independiente de Nueva York, Drowners, Hitt tuvo también una carrera como modelo.Su primer álbum con Drowners fue lanzado a comienzos del 2014. La banda se formó cuando le pidieron que abriera para la popular banda de rock The Vaccines.
Luego de obtener su licenciatura en Inglés se mudó a la ciudad Nueva York para dedicarse a una carrera como modelo.
Junto a sus compañeros de banda Joe Brodie, Jack Ridley III y Erik Lee Snyder lanzaron su primer EP, Between Us Girls, en el 2013. Ha obtenido más de 80.000 seguidores en su cuenta de Instagram.
En el 2014 fue fotografiado en la ciudad de Nueva York junto a la actriz de Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota Johnson.

Drowners are an American-Welsh indie rock band formed in New York City in 2011 by Matthew Hitt (lead vocals, guitar), Jack Ridley III (lead guitar), Erik Lee Snyder (bass) and Daniel Jacobs . Their first release was the EP Between Us Girls which appeared in early 2013.
