Wirich Philipp Lorenz von und zu Daun, príncipe de Thiano (Viena, 19 de octubre de 1669 - ibid., 30 de julio de 1741), fue un militar austríaco, mariscal de campo destacado durante la guerra de sucesión española, padre de Leopold Joseph von Daun.
Count Wirich Philipp von Daun (19 October 1669 – 30 July 1741) was an Austrian Field Marshal of the Imperial Army in the War of Spanish Succession, and father of the better known Leopold Josef Graf Daun.
Wirich Philipp Lorenz von und zu Daun, príncipe de Thiano, fue un militar austríaco, mariscal de campo destacado durante la guerra de sucesión española, padre de Leopold Joseph von Daun.
Nach Ablauf seiner Amtszeit (1719) wurde er Oberster Land- und Hauszeugmeister (Direktor der Artillerie) und Stadtkommandant von Wien, wo er das (heute Kinsky-) Palais nach dem Plane von Lukas von Hildebrandt baute.
El palacio fue encargado por el conde Wirich Philipp von Daun y su construcción comenzó en 1713 bajo la dirección del arquitecto Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. El príncipe Józef Poniatowski, general polaco y mariscal de Francia, nació en el palacio el 7 de mayo de 1763.

In 1710 he was created Prince of Teano . Daun was born in Vienna, the son of Wilhelm Graf Daun, also a Field Marshal.
Leopold Joseph Maria was born at Vienna, the son of Count Wirich Philipp von Daun (1669–1741) and his wife, Countess Maria Barbara von Herberstein (1675–1735). The Daun noble family originated from the Rhineland and derived its name from the ancestral seat at Daun south of the High Eifel range.
