He asserts that democracy is not flawless; it has flaws, shortcomings, and contradictions. However, he believes that despite these imperfections, democracy still deserves two cheers for its essential values and principles.
There is nothing substantively new about Two Cheers. Knowledgeable readers will recognize his arguments in Seeing Like a State or The Art of Not Being Governed. Rather, the book presents in 29 breezy, easy-to-understand vignettes of anarchism in action and the principles driving these actions.
