Mohammad Hasan Khan Qajar (Persian: محمدحسنخان قاجار), also spelled Muhammad and Hassan (1715–1759), chief of the Qoyunlu branch of the Qajar tribe of Turkomans in the Caspian coastlands around Astarabad, was the son of Fath Ali Khan and the father of Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar, who founded the Qajar dynasty of Iran.
Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar (Persian: آقامحمدخان قاجار, romanized: Âqâ Mohammad Xân-e Qâjâr; 14 March 1742 – 17 June 1797), also known by his regnal name of Agha Mohammad Shah (آقا محمد شاه, Âghâ Mohammad Šâh), was the founder of the Qajar dynasty of Iran, ruling from 1789 to 1797 as Shah.
Mohammad Hasan Khan E'temad os-Saltaneh (1843-96), a high official in the court of Naser od-Din Shah Qajar (1848-96), has been something of an. enigma to historians of nineteenth-century Iran.' The bare facts of his life are well known, but despite his fame, the man himself eludes us.
Mohammad Hasan Khan was killed in 1759/1172, and his son Agha Mohammad Khan, who had been castrated in his youth by one of the Afshars, was taken hostage by Karim Khan. Karim Khan never assumed the crown and was known as the Vakil al-Ro‘aya, the deputy of the people.

Fath Ali Khan's son Mohammad Hasan Khan Qajar (1722–1758) was the father of Mohammad Khan Qajar and Hossein Qoli Khan (Jahansouz Shah), father of "Baba Khan," the future Fath-Ali Shah Qajar. Mohammad Hasan Khan was killed on the orders of Karim Khan of the Zand dynasty .

He was born about 1155/1742, the eldest son of the chief of the Qavānlū (Qoyunlū) clan of the Qajars of Astarābād, Moḥammad-Ḥasan Khan, whose father, Fatḥ-ʿAlī Khan, had been executed by Ṭahmāsb II (perhaps at the instigation of the future Nāder Shah).
