In 2000, Lee played lead guitar on two tracks from Rob Rock's Rage of Creation album. In 2005, Lee released his first album in eight years entitled Retraced, which consisted of blues covers from the 1960s and 1970s. Lee was briefly in a three-piece band called 3 Day Crush.
Contó con la colaboración del prolífico Roy Z que, además de producir el álbum y tocar varios instrumentos en el mismo, se encarga aqui de componer todos los temas junto al propio Rob (excepto el cover que se incluye). Además se cuenta con la contribución de la guitarra del gran Jake E. Lee, participando en dos temas del disco.
