Elizabeth Hester Douglas-Home, Baroness Home of the Hirsel (née Alington; 6 November 1909 – 3 September 1990) was the wife of British politician and prime minister Alec Douglas-Home.

Elizabeth Hester Douglas-Home, Baroness Home of the Hirsel was the wife of the British Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home. She was born in 1909, the third daughter of the Very Revd Cyril Alington, the headmaster of Eton College and chaplain to King George V, and his wife, Hon. Hester Margaret Lyttelton, daughter of George, 4th Lord Lyttelton.
In 1611, the first Earl of Home contracted to buy the Hirsel Estate from Sir John Kerr – although it was not until 1621 that King James VI finally granted the lands of Hirsel to James, the 2 nd Earl of Home. Much of the early tree planting and the existence of the earliest part of Hirsel House appear to have been built by about 1620.
