Vesa Ranta (born 20 July 1973) is a Finnish drummer. He was one of the original members of the metal bands Sentenced and The Man-Eating Tree. He is also a fine art photographer and was owner of the Nuclear Nightclub live music club and bar in downtown Oulu.
Vesa Ranta, born 1973, is a fine art photographer and film maker based in Oulu, Finland. He has held numerous exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. His art is mainly focused on people and humanity in its various forms. In addition to still photography he also works with other audiovisual media.

Ranta works as both a photojournalist and a fine art photographer, and works on long term documentary projects. The last two long projects dealt with the daily lives of disadvantaged people and the rapidly changing demographic of rural areas in Finland.
