Mostyn House School was a school that was originally opened in Tarvin by Edward Henry Price, and moved to Parkgate, Cheshire, in 1855. [1] From 1862 until it closed in 2010, [2] it was run by the Grenfell family, originally as a boys' boarding school, and latterly as a co-educational day school.

1 de jun. de 2011 · Former public school, 1855 with 'Old Cottage' of 1881 by A.S. Grenfell and various late C19 and early C20 additions by A.G. Grenfell, also incorporates C18 inn. Brick and stone (some with black and white render and some with applied timberwork), mainly red tile and slate roofs.
We will be taking a detailed look at the fascinating history of the school, its masters and its students in future weeks, but the details of the early buildings deserve some attention first. In 1855 the Mostyn Arms Hotel on the Parkgate sea-front was for sale.
The classrooms are still and the dorms no longer echo with sound of children’s voices. Mostyn House School’s iconic building, which dominates a stretch along the Parkgate front, closed last July - not just for a brief summer break, the historic school had closed for good.
