Michael Montes was born in Houston, Texas, the son of American nurse Anne Pryor and Peruvian doctor Mario Montes who came to the United States in the early fifties. The family eventually settled in Eden, NY. [1]

A natural musical storyteller, his wide stylistic range allows him to bring the right emotion and energy to any cinematic situation. He is known for his work on The Windmill Movie (2008), Always Shine (2016), Don't Leave Home (2018) and Oscar® nominated One Day Crossing (2001).
