Miss Porter’s School educates young women to become informed, bold, resourceful and ethical global citizens. We expect our graduates to shape a changing world.
Miss Porter's School (MPS) is a private college preparatory school for girls founded in 1843 in Farmington, Connecticut. The school draws students from many of the fifty U.S. states, as well as from abroad.
The world is a different place than it was in 1843 when Sarah Porter first opened the doors of her schoolhouse. She was steadfast in her mission to educate young women. However, not all women were granted access to the school, denied on the basis of their race, religion, or socioeconomic status.
We believe tuition costs should not be an obstacle in educating young women. We offer need-based financial aid, merit scholarships and payment plans to meet the cost of a Porter’s education. We work closely with all families through the entire financial aid process with respect to individual family circumstances.
