Edward Hyde Villiers, 5th Earl of Clarendon, GCB, GCVO, TD, PC, DL (11 February 1846 – 2 October 1914), styled Lord Hyde between 1846 and 1870, was a British Liberal Unionist politician from the Villiers family. He served as Lord Chamberlain of the Household between 1900 and 1905.
George Edward Laurence Villiers, 8th Earl of Clarendon (born 12 February 1976) is the only son of the 7th Earl and his wife Jane Diana Dawson. He married Bryonie V. L. Leask, daughter of Major-General Anthony de Camborne Lowther Leask, while still styled as Lord Hyde.

On the death of his father, Edward Hyde Villiers (1846-1914) became the 5th Earl Of Clarendon. He served as ADC to Queen Victoria, and later to King Edward VII. The King visited The Grove in 1909, a year before his death. Photographs of this event were taken by F Downer & Sons, Watford.
Theresa Villiers (born 1968), a British Conservative Party politician and former Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, [8] [9] is a descendant of Edward Ernest Villiers (1806–1843), a son of George Villiers († 1827) and brother of George Villiers, 4th Earl of Clarendon.
Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon, son of Henry Hyde of Dinton in Wiltshire, was born on 18 February 1609, and became a barrister of the Middle Temple. His first marriage (with Anne Ayliffe in 1629) connected him with the powerful Villiers family, and his second in 1634, with Frances Aylesbury, substantially improved his position.
