Marcel Thil (29 May 1904 – 14 August 1968) was a French boxer and middleweight world champion. Statistical boxing website BoxRec rates Thil as the second-best European boxer ever across all weight divisions, after Joe Calzaghe.

Marcel Thil est un boxeur français né le 29 mai 1904 [1] à Saint-Dizier et mort le 14 août 1968 à Cannes. Grand ami de l'acteur Jean Gabin, Marcel Thil combattit dans les années 1930 dans la catégorie des poids moyens, catégorie dont il fut champion du monde de 1932 à 1937.

3 de mar. de 2020 · Thil was a journeyman boxer for a number of years but as he gained experience and matured to full adult strength, he developed power in both hands and began to win regularly by knockout. Thil won the French middleweight boxing championship in 1928 and captured the Europe title the following year.
Marcel Thil. Born May 25, 1904 in Saint-Dizier, France. Thil turned professional in 1920. His early record was dotted with almost as many losses as wins. However, Thil was determined and by 1928 developed a newfound punching power that soon brought him a succession of knockout victories.
