Thomas Michael Izzo (/ ˈ ɪ z oʊ /, Italian pronunciation:); born January 30, 1955) is an American college basketball coach who has been the head coach at Michigan State University since 1995. On April 4, 2016, Izzo was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame .

Izzo played guard for NMU’s basketball team from 1973-77, and was voted the team’s MVP as a senior. He was also a third-team Division II All-America pick that year and established the Wildcat record for most minutes played in a season.
