Charles Seymour (January 1, 1885 – August 11, 1963) was an American academic, historian and the 15th President of Yale University from 1937 to 1951. As an academic administrator, he was instrumental in establishing Yale's residential college system .

Charles Seymour was born in New Haven, Connecticut on January 1, 1885. He attended Cambridge (B.A. 1904, M.A. 1909), Yale (B.A. 1908, Ph.D. 1911) and the University of Paris. Seymour taught history at Yale from 1911-1937. In 1937 he became president of Yale, a position he held until 1950.
Charles Seymour, 6th duke of Somerset (born August 12, 1662—died December 2, 1748, Petworth, Sussex, England) was a British statesman during the reign of Queen Anne, who helped to secure the accession of George I of Hanover.
