William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset, KG, KB (1588 – 24 October 1660) was an English nobleman and Royalist commander in the English Civil War.

On 3 March 1616, Frances married at Drayton Bassett William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset (1588–1660), the son of Edward Seymour, Lord Beauchamp of Hache, and the grandson of Lady Catherine Grey. During the Civil War, he was a Royalist commander.
The Dukedom of Somerset remained under attainder until 1660, when the title was restored to the 1st Duke's great-grandson, William Seymour, 2nd Earl of Hertford later 1st Marquess of Hertford later 2nd Duke of Somerset.
William Seymour was one of the more complex characters of the period, and his moderate counsel proved largely inaudible during this century of political upheaval. Preferring constitutional restraint to divine rule, he opposed the King on numerous issues before the War.
