Maharani Jind Kaur (c. 1817 – 1 August 1863) was regent of the Sikh Empire from 1843 until 29 March 1847. After the Sikh Empire was dissolved on 29 March 1847 the Sikhs claimed her as the Maharani and successor of Maharaja Duleep Singh.

26 de may. de 2022 · The British declared war on the Sikh empire in December 1845. After their victory in the first Anglo-Sikh war, they retained Dalip Singh as the ruler but imprisoned Jind Kaur. After being imprisoned, she disguised herself as a servant and escaped the prison in 1849.
