Known for. Quantum theory debates. Jacques Solomon (4 February 1908 – 23 May 1942) was a French physicist and Marxist who played a central role in the debate over quantum mechanics in France in the 1930s and 1940s. He was killed by firing squad at Fort Mont-Valérien in 1942.

He was Paul Langevin’s son-in-law and took part with him in the sudden surge of rationalism during the 30s. He was a Marxist activist, interested in dialectical materialism and its application in scientific research.

Jacques Solomon, né le 4 février 1908 à Paris 18 e et mort pour la France, fusillé par les nazis le 23 mai 1942 au Mont-Valérien à Suresnes [1], est un physicien, théoricien marxiste et résistant communiste français [2].

En juillet 1929, Jacques Solomon épousa Hélène Langevin et s'installa auprès de son beau-père, rue Vauquelin. Il soutint sa thèse de doctorat ès Sciences. Nommé boursier de la Fondation Rockefeller en 1931-1932, il travailla à Copenhague et à Zurich puis séjourna à Berlin en 1932-1933 où il assista à l'arrivée d'Hitler au pouvoir.
