  1. Harold Francis Riley, DL (21 December 1934 – 18 April 2023) was an English artist. He sold his first painting to the Salford Museum and Art Gallery when he was 11. [1] Biography. Riley was educated at Salford Grammar School, [2] from where in 1951 he won a scholarship to the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
