28 de jun. de 2022 · The 2021 Census counted 25,422,788 people in Australia (excludes overseas visitors), an increase of 8.6 per cent since the 2016 Census. 49.3 per cent of the population were male with a median age of 37 years old. 50.7 per cent of the population were female with the median age of 39 years old.
At the 2021 census, 3.2% of the Australian population identified as being Indigenous — Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders. [N 4] [18] In 2020, 7.5% of births were Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons up from 5.7% in 2010; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander fertility rates have stayed above replacement levels even as the nation's has declined rapidly.

In 2021, as in 2016, just over half (50.7%) of Australian residents were female, and the median age of Australians is still 38 years.
