Alex Heffes (/ ˈ h ɛ f ə s /; born 2 September 1971) is a British film composer. His film scores include those for the BAFTA-winning Touching the Void, and Oscar-winning movies One Day in September, The Last King of Scotland, and Inside Job.

In January 2016, Alex Heffes was announced as the film's music composer. [3] . Speaking to Film Music Magazine, Heffes stated that the score is very "thematic, gentle and orchestral" in comparison to his score for miniseries Roots, though the film is set in Africa. [4] .
