Palermo Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Palermo, located in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
La catedral de Palermo se sitúa en la ciudad homónima en Sicilia . De fuerte estilo oriental debido principalmente a su patio interior lleno de palmeras. Primeramente fue una basílica bizantina, sobre la que, en 1185, el arzobispo de Palermo mandó levantar un templo de planta basílical con tres ábsides.

Palermo Cathedral is the largest Norman cathedral in Sicily, built in 1184 by Gualtiero Offamilio. As a result of numerous modifications over the centuries, only a few parts of the original building remain, but enough to give us an idea of its splendour.
Located on the northern coast of Sicily, Arab-Norman Palermo includes a series of nine civil and religious structures dating from the era of the Norman kingdom of Sicily (1130-1194): two palaces, three churches, a cathedral, a bridge, as well as the cathedrals of Cefalú and Monreale.
