  4. A goddaughter of Queen Mary, she was the first wife of George Innes-Ker, 9th Duke of Roxburghe. They were married on 24 October 1935, at Westminster Abbey, but divorced in 1953. According to The Daily Telegraph, she was best known for resisting the attempts of her husband to evict her from the family home, Floors Castle.

  5. His grandson, John Ker, was created Duke of Roxburghe in 1707. On the death of the 3rd Duke in 1804 William Bellenden, 7th Baron Bellenden and heir male of the 2nd Earl, inherited the Roxburghe estates and title.
