Gerald FitzWalter was born circa 1070 in Windsor, England to Walter fitz Otho (c1045-1102) and Beatrice de Offley (1052-c1110) and died circa 1136 Carew, Pembrokeshire, Wales of unspecified causes. Nest was the wife of Gerald de Windsor (c. 1075 – 1135), Constable of Pembroke Castle and son of the Constable of Windsor Castle in Berkshire, by whom she was the ancestress of the FitzGerald dynasty.
Princess Nest was the daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr, a Welsh prince and was born around 1080. After her father’s death in 1093 she spent much of her youth in the court of Henry I, by whom she had her first son. In 1100 she married Gerald de Windsor, an Anglo-Norman baron who was much older than Nest.
