Highgate is a suburban area of London at the northeastern corner of Hampstead Heath, 4 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (7 kilometres) north-northwest of Charing Cross. Highgate is one of the most expensive London suburbs in which to live.
Article History. Highgate, fashionable residential district in the north of Greater London, straddling the junction of the three London boroughs of Camden, Islington, and Haringey. Parliament Hill Fields and Kenwood lie west of Highgate, and to the north are Highgate Wood and Queen’s Wood.
