John Claypole (21 August 1625 – 26 June 1688) was an officer in the Parliamentary army in 1645 during the English Civil War. He was created Lord Claypole by Oliver Cromwell , but this title was not recognised after the Restoration of 1660.
Three years later, in May 1783, she married John Claypoole, who had earlier met Joseph Ashburn in the English Old Mill Prison and had informed Ross of her husband's circumstances and death. John Claypoole's diary and family Bible was rediscovered 240 years later in June 2020.

CLAYPOOLE or CLAYPOLE, JOHN ( d. 1688), Cromwell's son-in-law, was the son of John Claypoole of Norborough, Northamptonshire. John Claypoole, senior, was one of those who refused to pay ship-money, and was created a baronet by the Protector on 16 July 1657 ( Noble, ii. 374).
John Rowan Claypool IV, a noted theologian, author and speaker, was born on December 15, 1930, in Franklin, Kentucky. Though his family’s roots ran deep in Kentucky, Claypool grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, attending Belmont Heights Baptist Church with his parents, who were very active in the Southern Baptist tradition.
