John Douglas Stuart, 21st Earl of Moray (born 29 August 1966) is the only son of the 20th Earl of Moray and Lady Malvina Dorothea Murray, elder daughter of Mungo Murray, 7th Earl of Mansfield. Known as Lord Doune between 1974 and 2011, he was educated at Loretto School and University College London , graduating BA in History of Art.

Douglas John Moray Stuart, 20th Earl of Moray (13 February 1928 – 23 September 2011) was a Scottish peer, styled Lord Doune until 1974. The son of Archibald Stuart, 19th Earl of Moray, he succeeded to the earldom of Moray on his father's death in 1974.

John Stuart is the 21st Earl of Moray, his descendants have occupied the Castle Stuart Estate, on which Tornagrain is built, since the 16th Century. It is John’s vision that has driven this project.
Douglas spent the first seven years of his life by the banks of Linpopo River before going off to school in Johannesburg. In 1943 while at Hilton College, Natal, he learned of the sudden and unexpected death of his uncle Francis the 18th earl of Moray at Darnaway Castle, the family home in Scotland.
