Vladivostok ( /vlədʲɪvɐˈstok/ ⓘ, en ruso: Владивосток, en chino: 海参崴, pinyin: Hǎishēnwǎi) es una ciudad portuaria de Rusia ubicada en el Extremo Oriente Ruso, capital del Distrito federal del Extremo Oriente y centro administrativo del Krai de Primorie.
Vladivostok is the second-largest city in the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as the Russian Far East, after Khabarovsk. It is located approximately 45 kilometers (28 mi) from the China–Russia border and 134 kilometers (83 mi) from the North Korea-Russia border.
Origins of the modern city. On June 20, 1860 (July 2 Gregorian style) the military supply ship Manchur, under Captain-Lieutenant Alexey K. Shefner, called at Golden Horn Bay to found the outpost of Vladivostok.
