Alameda County (/ ˌ æ l ə ˈ m iː d ə / ⓘ AL-ə-MEE-də) is a county located in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,682,353, making it the 7th-most populous county in the state and 21st most populous nationally. The county seat is Oakland.
Alameda is a city in the U.S. state of California. It is next to Oakland and the San Francisco Bay. Most of Alameda is on an island (called Alameda Island). The other large part is a peninsula connected to the Oakland International Airport. This peninsula is called Bay Farm Island because it used to be an island.
