Biography. Jim Booth, a self-taught artist, was widely known for his life-like realism. With works that span the millennium, Jim paints Lowcountry and Charleston, SC area scenes from the early 1900’s to the present. Born in Charleston, SC, in 1945, Jim often stated that he had “been drawing and painting as long as he can remember".
Jim Booth was one of the most prolific artists of the Southeast, with a career spanning almost 50 years. His paintings depicted the power and peace, joy and beauty of our Carolina lowcountry. Jim’s paintings, with meticulous detail, reach out to the best and most beautiful within each person’s mind.

Jim Booth (7 February 1945 – 4 January 1994) was a New Zealand film producer and actor, known for producing early films from Peter Jackson, including Meet the Feebles (1989) and Braindead (1992). Booth died of cancer on 4 January 1994, at the age of 48.
