Milton Wright (November 17, 1828 – April 3, 1917) was the father of aviation pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright, and a bishop of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ.

The Wright brothers, Orville Wright (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) and Wilbur Wright (April 16, 1867 – May 30, 1912), were American aviation pioneers generally credited with inventing, building, and flying the world's first successful airplane.
She was the youngest of five surviving children of Bishop Milton Wright and Susan Koerner Wright. When her mother died of tuberculosis in 1889, 14-year-old Katharine, as the only female child, was expected to fill her shoes.
Milton, a bishop in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, was born in Rush County, Indiana, to farmers Dan Wright, Jr., and Catharine Reeder. He was their fifth child (of an eventual seven) and fourth son.
Bishop Milton Wright formed his own Constitutional Committee from conservatives and the group held annual meetings as they prepared for the showdown that was coming in 1889. He also started yet another newspaper to champion the conservative cause, the Christian Conservator.
