The Region of Southern Denmark is the westernmost of the Danish administrative regions ( Region Zealand being the southernmost). It consists of the former counties of Funen, Ribe and South Jutland, adding ten municipalities from the former Vejle County.

Vejle ( Danish pronunciation: [ˈvɑjlə]) is a city in Denmark, in the southeast of the Jutland Peninsula at the head of Vejle Fjord, where the Vejle River and Grejs River and their valleys converge. It is the site of the councils of Vejle Municipality ( kommune) and the Region of Southern Denmark.
It is the main town and the administrative seat of Sønderborg Municipality (Kommune). The town has a population of 28,137 (1 January 2023), [1] in a municipality of 74,380. In recent times, Sønderborg is a center for trade, tourism, industry, and education in the region of Southern Denmark.
The Region of Southern Denmark is a dynamic growth area with a central geographical location. Not only in relation to the rest of Denmark, but also with regard to Germany, which is Denmark’s biggest trade partner, and the rest of Europe.
