The last known image of Dennis Wilson, drummer of The Beach Boys. Wilson died by drowning in Marina del Rey, California, on December 28th, 1983, while trying to recover his ex-wife’s belongings, while also being intoxicated. This photo was taken just a couple months before his passing. He was 39.
They reported that Dennis had leaped into the water at 4:25 p.m., seeking to retrieve some personal items. Wilson, at the time, was estranged from his wife, Shawn Marie Love, who had previously thrown his belongings into the same waters in an act of defiance.

Objectively, I think he still looks pretty handsome here. Obviously the changes were drastic when you consider what he looked like even a few years before. But if I saw that guy on the street, I’d peg him for maybe 45. Based on the photo alone, I’d be swiping right. Reply.

Dennis Carl Wilson (December 4, 1944 – December 28, 1983) was an American musician who co-founded the Beach Boys. He is best remembered as their drummer and as the middle brother of bandmates Brian and Carl Wilson.
