SS President Coolidge was an American luxury ocean liner that was completed in 1931. She was operated by Dollar Steamship Lines until 1938, and then by American President Lines until 1941.
Entering service on October 1, 1931, SS President Coolidge plied the Trans-Pacific route between San Francisco and ports-of-call in Hawaii, Japan, China, and the Philippines. During this tumultuous decade, crew members witnessed firsthand the global conflict then spreading across Asia.

Laid down April 22, 1930 with yard number 340 as one of two ships for Dollar Steamship Lines, her sister ship was SS President Hoover. Launched February 21, 1931 as SS President Coolidge named in honor of 30th U.S. President Calvin Coolidge sponsored by his wife, Mrs. Calvin C. Coolidge.

The Coolidge is now regarded as the most accessible shipwreck in the world for divers, for a ship of its size and type. In fact due to its location, depth, accessibility and the visibility of the water it lies in, it was named one of the top ten dive spots in the world.
